Community Involvement

Our community involvement is a proud one that reaches outside the borders of Edmonton and Alberta.

The Spirit of Edmonton has raised funds for charitable groups in Edmonton and the host Grey Cup City, Cops for Cancer, The Firefighters Burn Treatment Society, Cross Cancer Institute and various sports clubs. This year at home our approach is no different. You will recognize the charities we support via our media show, the volunteers behind the bar who represent those charities. When you see members of these charities we’d like you to pass the “SPIRIT” and support them.

During our 2010 Grey Cup Breakfast in Calgary we crossed international borders and time zones with a LIVE web broadcast with our Armed Forces in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The breakfast crowd was emotionally stunned that we had a "Live" Skype video call and made the effort to include one of our long standing volunteers, CPL. Ron Anderson, who could not be in attendance at Grey Cup due to deployment. Ron and his "boys" were given a standing ovation by all in attendance, including then Premier, Ed Stelmach.

OUR “Spirit” flag waved proudly on the parade grounds in Kandahar along with the mighty "EE" Edmonton Eskimos colours as well. Another reason to be a proud Canadian!
